Different scenarios

Kendrick left TDE because he wanted full independence. While there may have been tension between him and the label at one point, Kendrick has shown to still be on good terms with everyone there and even shouted out his fellow Black Hippy members in his Grammy speech.

Eminem probably isn’t on bad terms with the members of D12, but it’s clear that it frustrates him that none of them outside of Proof could make a name for themselves outside of him. And ofc, Proof dying made him never look at the group the same again. Because even though Em was the biggest and most famous, Proof was the true leader and bleeding heart of the group.

Kendrick’s was uplifting and a homage to people he considers family. Full of love. Reiterating that even though he’s not with them anymore, they will still be apart of his life in some way.

Ems was reflective and melancholic. It’s not a happy song. He’s facing the guilt that he felt by abandoning something that was an integral part of the earlier part of his career. Asking the what ifs and venting his frustrations. But also realizing it’s not entirely his fault it failed.
