got reccs? I’m new to this Honestly, I was reading the the apple usb/lightning to headphone adapter is like a genuinely decent dac for the size and price.
I want to grab a pair like HD6XX as well at some point. The DT990s have a very prominent like sound signature, but I heard the HD6XX much more neutral and I'd love to try out like a neutral sounding headset some day.

different, dac is what converts audio from digital to a***ogue, amp is what boosts the signal to your headphones
a lot of the time you'll find combo units in more budget headphones or you'll rely on the power that your device can push if its only a dac (like the apple dongle)
i was just reading trying to find a source on the apple and apparently fiio sells some good portable units now at a good budget price. Fiio has some good mid range and high end stuff too that is always recommended, I'm thinking about replacing my schiit stack with a fiio unit.
