but also a big difference between just being "on socials" and spending hours and hours on them scrolling the feed, letting the algorithms do their thing etc. theres a huge spectrum of how much we can both give away so much of our data and have our realities shifted by the content
like i said, no one is forcing that...but also another thing that factors into it is the actual addictive part so there kinda is an aspect of being forced. especially kids.
i def. dont think its just all the general publics fault for getting hooked on it so much
On your last sentence no not at all. Gen pop never had a f***ing chance to be honest this was and still is relatively new. I’d say we’re like the first real Gen from this era and you can see the burnout and rejection of this stuff in some but you can see who fully fed in/ got hooked it’s sad but interesting also. The way it’ll affect us I think will only get worse but I’m also a doomer
But agree on the rest tho I try not to engage with my feed page on IG and since I barely do whatever I show slight interest in it immediately tries to dial in on to try to get me to stay on for hours. Idk I have socials but besides this money laundering scheme KTT I don’t spend nearly that many hours on the rest

Nortsubtitles also pulls you away slightly from the movie
it’s easier to be immersed when you’re not reading every line
I have subtitles on for English movies and shows all the time. I find it makes it more enjoyable
