He shouldn't have gotten shot, but am I mourning him? No, I'm not.
You also don’t believe this
Yeah it’s weird. I still believe in a sense he got what was coming giving he supported violence either directly or non directly.
But at the same time he said many things that were strictly just political views and whether you agree or not you have to respect that right to expression.
Weird moment for sure.
I am not so sure now that he "got what was coming" seeing as he never engaged in the behavior himself. He encouraged not limiting the possession of firearms, which is something I also support. Gun violence does come with that as a negative side effect of what I believe to be an important right to self defense where the good outweighs the bad.
I don't think supporting that makes you deserve to be shot. You deal with the consequences of what you believe in but I wouldn't always say the fate that transpires from that is always necessarily deserved.
On one side I’m like f*** em
On the other hand it’s like damn this road can only lead to the destruction of our country if we continue down this path
Pray for peace yall
Both sides of the political aisle have been spending the last decade alienating people.
The right alienates anyone who isn’t white or isn’t wealthy.
The left alienates anyone who isn’t woke or isn’t a minority.
No matter which camp you fall into when you start to make people feel boxed in, trapped, hopeless and useless it’s going to result in this s***.
Politics should be able people coming together to improve a country for the general good. I doubt we’ll see western politics get back to that in our lifetime though.
Western politics?
Lol, let's be clear here: The entirety of politics is bullshit.
I think everything will stay exactly the same with the added benefit of not having Charlie Kirk around

I actually do.
He shouldn't have gotten shot; however, I'm not mourning him, because I believe he was a piece of s***, who nevertheless didn't deserve it.
I also realized the "well he didn't just think it...he also said it!" Argument is flawed
People should and do have the right to speak what is on their mind and if people happen to support it or agree with them that's the effect of the court of public opinion. I disagree with almost all of what he said but that's how it goes. People disagree with people. Sometimes more or the right people agree with them and it adds impact to their thoughts. That isn't an excuse to murder people.

I know. I just have hope for other countries to fix it.
I have 0 hope for America.
They won’t see it that way though.
I don’t feel any empathy for Charlie but it’s still fair to say political violence is bad. If I became a voice for the things I believe in I don’t want the fear of being shot.
it comes w the territory
they shot abe and mlk and jfk yk
@mos_def, that Joviale album is astounding... be sure to check it out tonight... I haven't heard about them before, but yeah... it's serene, dreamy, yet funky at times... some indie-pop thrown in for good measure too.

I think in a case where him “saying it” directly leads to violence is where saying it matters.
Ie. He both directly (funding transportation) and indirectly (calling on people to rally) contributed to Jan 6th which results in plenty of innocent people getting hurt.
Sure it was just his “political belief” that the election was stolen. But his words and actions from that belief led to violence.

I actually do.

Cap
I think my generation was raised with an idea that they should inevitably get what they want out of life. Which isn't how life works. Life can seem unfair and it can be hard and sometimes you will even fail. I don't think an immoral act like limiting the thoughts and choices of others through violence is an appropriate response to it. Things might not go your way. If they aren't going your way adapt, find peace through other means, etc. Bad things happen and they always will and using more bad things to limit the amount of bad things is silly
