I was thinking of that but just going to grab the base 17. It’ll be cheaper than a 16 pro even on sale and it’s basically got all the specs of the 16 pro now minus the cameras (which I don’t need 3 fancy cameras 2 is fine).

I think if you buy from Apple directly it’s mint. I’ve bought refurbished MacBook before and it was good as new with a full warranty. Apple replaces battery, sometimes even the entire frame/case, when they do their refurbished.
Can’t speak for other brands but for Apple id personally buy refurbished > a new one if the same model was available.
