Even if they wanted to make it customizable through only apple computer parts they'd have to spend time developing all of that and releasing it and advertising it which all costs money

Instead they can just release a computer, then release another computer which they would do anyway and shield it by being "simplistic"

it depends on what you’re looking for as a consumer

the biggest benefit to buying a mac over a pc to me is that a mac computer is more reliable and tends to just always work. i dont feel like the computer is ever actually getting in my way (assuming i bought one that has what all i need).
