WESLEYS THEORY@mos_def when it comes to rock albums versus great songs, Your best bet is to start in 1965/1966
Rubber Soul and Pet Sounds are like the first 2 that really approached the “album” as like a structured statement rather then just a collection of songs put together.
Ok i don’t mind starting with 60s rock
I’m mainly an album type listener so that’s an excellent recommendation brother

Poolboy QLet’s put bro on to Jean Luc Ponty. I listened to most of his s*** now. Everything from 78-93 was fire, I think his best album was Storytelling (1989) just perfectly encapsulates the type of jazz I like

nitpicking but still more of an identity in the 50s for rock i think. main thing is stuff like the energy and mix of country elements with the rhythm and blues. Chuck Berry kind of a world away from the rhythm and blues world already with his guitar s*** and people calling him a black hillbilly

I love it, although I still stand on the belief that it took around a decade for it to really find its own complete identity outside of being spun off of rhythm and blues.

John MauveI was 12 years old and my first two CD's were Eminem Curtain Call and Nirvana Greatest Hits
I would spin those to death and learn every song pretty much inside out
Having access to everything now is great but I wouldn't trade that for the world

i would like to say i still like all music genres basically equally but i have to admit rock is the biggest speciality (and even metal more specifically)
