This is why I wouldn't do realistic stuff and just like cartoon doodles because I would have such a bad time and art is supposed to be fun if it's just like a hobby

I'm not trying to grind to like learn what's necessary to use it to make a living

like im finally out of the city where im surrounded by farm animals, birds, cats, dogs. and i dont have time to take advantage of it. then when I move back to the city and have time , its back to going to zoos which have no farm animals.

yeah its like excercise. its something everyone should do (not drawing in particular but some form of art). some people are pro atheletes and body builders. but thats a different thing and some people enjoy that, most people dont. and 99.99% of people dont have to worry about it. but everyone should do it and have fun.

but like pro athletes and body builders, is it is helpful to just have a casual reading of some of the things they do and take whats helpful for you, because it can make it even more fun and less frustrating.

something my mentor repeats contestantly, is to have fun with it. and he can always tell when it feels like when someone is having fun with a lesson, or not. it appears in the final product. loads of pros lose that fun part and the art itself suffers a lot.

I can just take little tidbits of info and use it to add to my fun doodles and not get frustrated

ya exactly thats 100% what u should be doing! take the bits to make you less frustrated, ignore things that arent fun to learn that you dont need. just all about maximizing fun for yourself.
something that pro artists need to get better at doing themsleves

    It's pointless

If I wanted to just get really good at something and not have any fun there are way more lucrative industries to get into instead of being an artist

And a lot of people can't do that cus it's hard

    lmaooo exactly.

escpially where money is concerned. if i wanted to maximize money at the expense of enjoyment i wouldve worked in finance or been a plumber or something.

yeah for sure! like the way ive always framed it in my head, is its like learning math or playing a videogame where i’m solving puzzles. and i love it. thats kinda autistic tho and not fr everybody
but i would be doing this anyway. if I won the lottery i would be doing the same thing. if i was working a job i didnt like i would be doing this in my free time. so i may as well make it work for a living!
    rare situation
