yeah for sure! like the way ive always framed it in my head, is its like learning math or playing a videogame where i’m solving puzzles. and i love it. thats kinda autistic tho and not fr everybody
but i would be doing this anyway. if I won the lottery i would be doing the same thing. if i was working a job i didnt like i would be doing this in my free time. so i may as well make it work for a living!
rare situation
I'm trying to just learn enough about perspective/anatomy to put doodle characters in different angles and poses and then I'll b good and I will make silly comic strips until the end of time
yeah after finishing the unfinished book series
i think i got past the peak parts already
I mean
The show diverges from the books quite a bit
Would never tell a book first person to peep it

It isn’t as good if you already are viewing it from the perspective of what the show could’ve been tbh
Better to go the other way around
Im so sorry

Outside of like drawing things for people to put on little trinkets or clothing (which is fun but not super consistent at a small scale)
Or like learning how to animate which seems super tedious and not fun
Comics are like the most achievable way of making finished things that I will be satisfied with probably
like incest :)

well in the context of a show or book about kings and royalty yeah, because they were all doing that. its just accurate to the source material.

Not like marvel dc crazy detailed story comics but more like newspaper strips/alternative comics that are just like wacky cartoony fun

i agree yeah.
animation is fun becasue when it all comes together its like damn this came to life. its kinda magic. but it can be really tedious.
comics are def the best at work to output ratio and the variety of art styles u can do with them.
big reason i like indie comics is because they can take huge risks in storytelling that animations, novels and live action movies cant. since if its fails its only a months work. so you end up with really cool and out there stuff.
bit different than comic strips, but its the same thing too. you can bang out ideas really quick so you have so much freedom over what u can do
what the hell is this convo
my fault im trippin
I have this really big book called the someday funnies which is a collection of a bunch of comic strips by like people who participated in the underground comix stuff from the 70s about the 60s
They were meant to be used for rolling stones magazines but they never were released in them
And I have a big book about like the history of modern comic strips from the yellow kid to little nemo to peanuts or Garfield
