It's kinda lame a little bit

Like to get good you have to work a lot and study and off to do all that

But if you don't do that you are basically doodling like a child would

And I don't really like looking at art or learning about art so why would I care to create art

this would be like me saying im never going to dance again because i dont like learning about, watching or studying dancing.

thats crazy i dont need any of that to go to a concert and dance.
and doing that isnt lame at all. whats lame is stopping something you enjoy

    yup literal same sides!

that abstract part of painting and drawing is my like whole life’s studying!!

hard to explain it unless youre able to point it out like that.

its no surpise he knows that stuff though because music is very similar. playing on opposites, contrasts, making rhythms.
he already had those concepts down when he started painting and jsut had to change the language of it

probably why there’s so many examples of legendary artists being into painting

    mccartney, miles davis, kanye, etc

  • Another game im quitting. This one is called pragmata. I just got bored and i dont think i have a fatherly instinct in me. So i just dont care..

    oh yeah for sure!

its like learning french then learning spanish or italian.

theres a lot more transferability than people realize.

    the other way too.
the head of nintendo (i think either that or some other very important person in the company) said he doesnt enjoy playing videogames in his free time he likes playing music lol

that is v cool but also makes a lot of intuitive sense

unsurprised people who are multi talented used the unique connections they have from having multiple skills are able to make an extremely influential program like fl studios

and if you’ve ever used FL you can definitely see where that background comes into play.

ableton probably made by people who used excel spreadsheets all day

ableton, FL and logic are probably your big 3 for producing

    FL is more hiphop/trap
    Ableton is more electronic/dance
Logic is a bit more varied but leans towards genres with an emphasis on acoustic instruments, I suppose

i think so too. i mean he painted a lot longer than he made music to my knowledge. even though hes more famous for his music and obviously his music is very influential, if i had to guess painting was more important to him than the music

    it’s the standard for mixing

ah thats what its called. i knew there was one that was

pro tools and antares are the two main industry standards

fl and ableton is equally used just depends on the music, ableton is way better for sound design so a lot of EDM and synth players will use it because u can develop a new sound really fast compared to FL where u need VSTs and a bunch of plugins

yeezus was the first kanye album made on ableton the rest were all just pro tools and physical hardware prior to that with some producers like hit boy using FL studio

OOH ok gotcha i thought you coudl do it all in one program.

which is silly in hindsight it makes sense theres thing specialized in making music and for mixing.
