when you learn mixing you gotta rummage through a heap of bad advise, misinformation, plugins you dont really need, and courses from all over complicated the entire process
but big andy taught me that at the end of the day, mixing is almost entirely just lowering/raising volume in various ways. thats all its ever been.

i just never thought about them being done in different programs.mixing is something people on this site have such a sensitive ear to that unless something is attrocious i cant pick up on
you could mix on ableton/fl/logic and many many people do!
mike dean for example has mixed on ableton a bunch
and yeah mixing is far more often felt than it is understood by listeners. they sell ear training courses for beginners because you just dont know what to listen for when starting out lol.

ya art is both very selfish, in the sense youre making something for yourself that you enjoy, but also selfless in the sense you’re sacrificing your time and energy to make something for people to enjoy. often long after your gone.
and whether you feel the need to create more depends on if you feel it. you have in the past, if you feel like theres something in the world that doesnt exist you want in it, then create more.
if doing other things in your life makes you happier, then pursue those things!!
