So Far Gone established him as the hottest new rapper at the time, he just needed a product on the shelf for the labels. That whole album was just him setting the tone for the 2010s, It wasn't really about dropping this classic debut I don't think.

    TML was always about making sure Drake remained in the conversation, it was never a concerted effort at a blockbuster(like Take Care was)YM let Nicki take over first, Drake was really on cruise control that whole year, and still made dope s***.
