i always assumed it was just because of the difference in politics with people in large cities in california being more blue on average and that came with the territory.

ive only ever voted ndp

theyll never win though.

but what we do the usa doesnt, is the majority minority system so we dont have like a third candidate that splits votes.

so like if you win but its under a certain number of votes, you have to get the other parties to like agree with you to pass a law.

and the last 10 years the ndp and liberals together were enough to pass it, they didnt need the conservatives. so the liberals couldnt do anything without the NDP, and the NDP werent going to let the liberals do anything unless they passed their platform.

seems like a much better system to me
