But in that show there's a cruel character named Marlo and he keeps a pigeon coop and pays someone to take care of them which is out of character because he's a sociopath and evil

And I think the reason for this is symbolic of how the way we treat pigeons aligns with how we treat people suffering in less privileged communities

We forced them into their environment once they were unwanted, and now they are treated as a problem/a nuisance because of how they have adapted to the circumstances we put them in

i saw the first season and never made that connection because i watched it as a teenager and i completely agree. that is a fantastic a***ogy.

this is parallel to the overarching theme of watchmen as well, it uses superheroes as metaphor for fascism and government overreach in general and how people who think theyre better than others, ruin communities.
