And what about the rest of the world? And it only reduces carbon emissions and maybe slows down climate change a bit just kicks the can down the road ultimately. Again, it sounds good on paper but to deploy it in a way that actually moves the needle is very hard to pull off practically.

A better approach would be to remove carbon from the atmosphere but we don’t have the technology currently to do that in a sufficient or efficient manner. If AI can figure out how to remove carbon on mass scale, that will stop or even reverse climate change

theres also a big carbon capture movement funded by oil lobbies because its essentially allows them to profit from the problem they created by selling the solution themsleves.

i believe a part of me does not want to be optimistic for the future because that means i’ll have to strongly reconsider having kids and i’m not ready for that
