anyone got suggestions on how to write melodies? think i got basic drum patterns down, but don't know anything about melodies and harmony
I got no idea so I got the Captain plug-ins.
Check for free ai tools like Google magenta studio.
Also check for old video game music midi files after learning about music theory you'll probably understand them a lot better.
Learn your chord Progressions and then learn the difference emotion in timing of notes. 1/2 step whole step 1/3 step. Make sure your in the right key.
Melody
Counter melody
Layering

I think mixing vocals on s***ty laptop speakers is better than using monitors or headphones
My headphones mixes sus on bad speakers but a good mix on bad speakers sounds like s***in good headphones
i love my music cus its the perfect embodyment of myself
nerdy and overly complex but beautiful and cool af, effortless at the same time
Any producers send me beats

Yo so I got a new interface. M-audio m track solo.
In fl studio, whenever I try to use the ASIO driver for the interface, it'll work and then whenever I add a new plug-in vst, the sound stops and I'll have to toggle between asio4all and the m-audio driver to get it working again.
But when I select the interface in the "Directsound devices" section of the audio out put drop down box, it works just fine with no issue.
Is there a benefit to select the ASIO version of the driver over the ASIO version ? I don't record anything. I mainly got it for the sound proccessing. Sounds way better than my motherboard. I'm able to get better sounding mixes out of it.
This is only in FL too. I use Renoise too (most of yall most likely don't know what that DAW is) and I have no issues there.
edit: found solution

on Fl, let's say you receive a flp from someone else for a collab and they used a plugin that you have, but when you open up the project file, you get the "problem loading" screen for the same plugin because you have the VST3 of that plugin instead of the regular VST. Anyway to fix this ?
any tips/recommended necessities for someone that wants to get into producing. been songwriting for years but finally wanna take a shot at it (and engineering)

Export the midi or score and then do that into your vst

The plugins won't even open for me to be able to export the midis

Ask him to send the project as a zip and send the project bones
I think that way you can translate everything into your setup.
You just gotta figure out how the song was structured from there
