for some reason, on the straight up wav files they sound way cleaner but when i posted it on soundcloud it sounds way messier
I feel like this is obvious
But if you make (sometimes or all the time) sample produced beats
It's always good to keep a note of tracks you've heard that you want to sample, with timestamps
Baby flame: beat that could b big flame but the drums r soft n lowkey its harder that way. Banger with untapped potential
If u dont hear a reply, they didnt listen
This cap, artists dont say s*** even if they listened
Just copped a mpc key 37. I know about the limitations, but I’m more of a key player and I’m not trying to do anything serious anymore. Just want something I can scratch ideas on while I’m working or sitting on the couch. It’s a little bulky for that, especially not being battery powered but I can make it work
Kinda excited. Maybe it will help spark my inspiration again
Ive got the mpk mini plus 37, love it except one key’s velocity sensitivity is f***ed. I opened it up couldnt figure out how to fix it.
Decimort on the 808....
Try tuning/automating your bitcrusher sample rate to the frequency of each note
Bro told me the only problem with my beats is the mix.....
Best / most common problem to have
Hardest problem to solve tbh
is this thread dead fr? lol anyone got a chromakopia drumkit of some sort 👀
Sample the album into chops yourself,
use a stem splitter and then beef your chops up with your favorite drum sounds, mix it down. Repeat.

I can actually mix well but its like im not into that s***, rarher slap on some presets than track out each sound and eq everything reverb etc its too much. if some1 tells me to mix a beat ill do it tho for a placement

thank you for these gems 🫡
Im losing my mind, uvi falcon not working, i have probably a thousand projects that rely on that s***, its my goto, reinstalling is a f***ing nightmare

you’d be floored at how many beats get passed over from mixing. it’s a great skill to invest into

Yea i seen it recently, defo need to figure it out

you'll get there. just take breaks let things bake into your process and repeat.
i manage to get a similar result from light autotune compared to what I get with just using chorus effects directly on the track
hoping to complete forgo autotune if possible
i ain't got vocal chops like that, but sometimes i do shock myself
can't wait to be finished with my upcoming work workload and then i'll be locked the f*ck, shame that this is the only week where my roomies are all away

Mixing is an extremely subjective thing. Some of my favourite albums have mixes that sound so different from each other.
I think one of the best things you can do to try and improve a mix is to use a reference track that you want your mix to sound similar to and tweak your mix from there. I guess you will never please everyone, but if you can bring your tracks closer to a “conventional” mix without compromising your vision i think thats the goal.

Good to be reminded to bounce my multitracks more often

yea it is subjective but i have bad habits, like using the limiter, i see now why that doesnt work, cus when the bass dies out the sounds are wayyyy too loud
Good to be reminded to bounce my multitracks more often
yea thats smart but luckily its working now lol, if i bounced all my beats id need like 5 more hard drives
I can’t believe I’m a hardware guy now. Only use a daw / computer for mixing.
I make all my beats right on the MPC and it’s the best thing I’ve ever done. So many distractions on the computer and way too many options. It’s forces you to be more creative on a stand alone.
Feel like a lotta people turning to MPC again too.
Saw metro, lex Luger, chopsquad dj all using MPCs now
I know producers used a MPC for decades but what I mean is, more producers who historical are FL studio/computer producers are switching over

i fw this // i could rap on this from 1:35 // idk what it needs mixing wise but i know i would hit an 808 and some aggressive sounds , slow it down for myself
