That open synth is menacing, I think a harder bass would compliment that melody well. It was a bit lacking compared to how menacing the synth melody is.
ty ty will work on it later tonight
tryna get some cudi montage type s*** goin on
I frequently post up beats on YouTube at youtube.com/channel/UC6ahTmACTWKIQtVsn6UAELg

melodic
I've been making music for a while, but just started uploading live jams to YouTube.
This first one's a retro style synthwave set using an a***og Volca synth and an Electribe Groovebox. I used a Fuzz Pedal to fatten up the sound of the synth.
!https://youtu.be/Epa8Pc69CRcThis second one was made entirely on the sampler, most of the samples are from some random old funk vinyls I had lying around.
!https://youtu.be/oP2sUUeCdnMLet me know if anyone wants to collaborate
that second beat is crazy
how do I need to voice my chords to get them 2 sound like this
you talking about the panning on the chords or how the piano sounds very retro / cheap? Or you mean what key / scale to use to get those type of chords?

i think this some fire, i can never tell when my beats are done, this s***s bothering me cuz i think that theres room for one more melody what yall think
Can I ask yall a question? How can you guys make and finish a beat in a hour or 30 mins, because I always find myself trying to make a beat quick and fire at the same time.

old poppy beat, one of my favorites
who would’ve thought 2020 would be carried by pierre type beats
When i heard that mashup between YBN Namir and Magnolia i knew the sound would pickup, its extremely hard to sound like trash on a non-experimental pierre type beat

dont focus on speed because that means absolutely nothing other than trying to get an ego boost when telling people how fast you made it. Anyone who boasts about that s*** dont listen to them doesnt matter who it is it fr means jack s***

the sounds wont get you to produce like that it will just give you the same sounds but you can look up what drum machines and synths that were used on certain project and there will probably be a vst emulation for the synths at least but drums you can download the sounds for them after you find out what drum machine it came from
Any recommendations for getting started in EDM music production?
keep remaking your favorite music and you'll keep getting better quickly and always keep trying to learn but learn from the people who are the best at what they do not anyone that just uses the same DAW as you because most chances are they don't fully know what they're doing as well unless their music is completely amazing. Another good source of information is mixing engineers too because it all goes hand in hand and also learn sound design which seems hard but its really easy and you could learn it in less than a day but practice makes perfect too. Most EDM producers use Ableton but some use FL but more people use Ableton especially in EDM so its way easier to collaborate in there plus its meant more for EDM anyway. Also in terms of plugins don't feel the need to go out and get all these plugins (except serum but just crack it for now tbh) because its important to learn how to use them before trying to get the fancy stuff thinking that it will make your stuff sound better. It's like buying a lambo without knowing how to even put a car in reverse or pump gas. Also pay attention to the sounds that you use as well because you can have a perfectly produced song with bad sounds and it just wont sound good or as good so sound selection is important but you don't really have to worry about that now but its a good thing to keep in mind. If this is something that you really want to start for a career also once you start putting out music don't focus on blowing up at all just focus on getting one fan and after that focus on a second and once you have these people that care about your music mostly focus on taking care of them and communicating with them and not just trying to get more or distancing yourself from them. Create a community of people who enjoy your music but thats really down the line but important to think about when you're making music so you don't have a stress of trying to blow up which everyone has. Also befriend other producers that you personally like and genuinely like their music. Also kinda touched on this before and not too too much to worry about now but A dont take mixing tips from people who dont mix their own music or aren't good at mixing (or be weary of the info that you do take) because it will send you on a spiral of misinformation and this can even go for your favorite artists if they dont mix their own music but most edm producers do mix their own stuff so you should be fine in that case. Dig into the credits of the music that you like and find out what the jobs of the people that are doing work on the song and look them up and you might find some good info. Dont think that you have to do this all right now and dont even focus on most of it tbh i just dont know how to stop typing but keep some of this in mind for the future as you go along with it.
