how does one get good at making good melodies? i just don’t have an ear for chords or anything i guess. i’ll have some hard ass drums but if i add any melodic element it ruins it and i just get discouraged help me plz

listen to more music and start imagining melody lines.

plus you have a voice, sing the melody and it will come naturally.

not at all. i know piano a little but only because i know where the notes are

that's what you gotta do, try playing an instrument it will open the doors to creativity for u quicker than anything else

I recommend guitar or piano but your voice is good enough providing you take the time to replicate it on the DAW/instrument

or straight up record your voice, voice is also an instrument
