Metroid ravenous trailer almost matched in 2 days what dread first trailer did in 5 years WHAT THE F***
Edit: it actually surpassed it
ravenous looks hype but i'm not a metroid guy so it's a pass for me.
This worked for me! Physical OOT Remake for $50 at Walmart!

$100 CAD

break out your comfort zone then yeah?
switch 2 first party lineup way too lackluster to be picky about things
never played a dk game until bananza and it ended up being one of my fav games last year

Its not really lackluster. Like you said, you just need to try new things.
Might even be Nintendo's strategy. They don't need a 3d Mario or a new Zelda, the system is still selling. So why not use this period to push "b-tier" franchises. People want to play on the switch 2, so in the abscence of the usual big hitters they're more likely to try out new series and maybe become even fans. And they still throw a bone to the mass market by releasing games like Mario kart, switch sports and oot remake
Look at how Metroid ravenous is getting all the attention right now. Had smash or 3d mario been announced too it would've probably been overshadowed
Next year guys
https://twitter.com/n64josh/status/2098375279806705744I think that’s coming later in the generation
I feel like the next 3d Mario is wrapping up production and releasing soon, likely next year
It would be weird to drop a remake before then imo, whereas it makes sense for Zelda and Starfox because any new game in those series is pretty far off

lackluster as in they don’t have a lot of “wow i must buy a switch 2 for this” exclusives out there
the biggest games from this year was pokopia and soon to be grokrina. unfortunately the latter will probably be that “wow i need a switch 2” but dropping $500 on a 30 year old game is pretty silly
like not even being funny i dont think ive seen anyone talk about that yoshi game at all
arguably could say the same for the star fox remake as well

Its unfortunate cause Yoshi is one of the most ingenious games in recent years too. Had it been a new ip it would've got a lot more attention and acclaim. Nintendo made a mistake marketing it as a goo goo ga ga game for infants

Why b**** ass Canada always get cool s*** like this smh

My level headed mind says yeah 3D Mario is for sure coming in 2027. But my heart is saying it’s gonna be 9 YEARS NEXT MONTH since the last mainline 3D Mario… it feels like we’re never gonna get a new one
Like what is taking so long? The longest gap for 3D Mario. No 3D Mario in the first year launch of a new system for the first time EVER
Like was there trouble in development or is what they’re cooking so massive and we’re about to get the greatest game ever made?
Just so many questions man and I wanna know now…

I love Yoshi and that s*** was so mid. They need to give Yoshi to a new team cus Yoshi games been bland af for a decade plus now

Well we did get Luigi’s balloon world in 2018 and bowsers fury in 2021 so it’s not like they’ve done nothing.
But yeah, a new 3d Mario taking so long is a real bummer, but you know the pressure is on because they always seem to reach more ambitious with each 3d title*
*excluding 3d world which felt a bit like an old school embrace of the Mario Bros, format, I almost don’t consider that a true 3d Mario, more like 2.5D

Facts. Like they deadass released, Mario Kart, the best selling game on every Nintendo console, on day one
The month after they dropped a spiritual sequel to Mario Odyssey made by the same team. That winter we got a new Kirby Air Riders from Masahiro Sakurai. Not to mention the many 1440p/4K 60fps updates for major Switch 1 games. By all accounts they came out the gate swinging.

Nah Bowser’s Fury was dope. I actually loved that a lot. But it definitely had that $20 expansion DLC” vibe and not a full experience
But I agree with you. Every 3D Mario pushes the genre forward into new and refreshing places. I’m expecting nothing short of a masterpiece. And Nintendo has delivered that every single time for decades.
There’s no reason to think we won’t be getting that in 2027

mario kart world is a system seller but it also came with the system cos no one wanted to pay for $80 for it separately. it also was very mixed reception wise once the dust settled and the lack of dlc for a year and some change is insane
bananza and air riders are great
the fact that you have to count switch 1 upgrades as "coming out the gate swinging" says it all especially considering you conveniently left out their last exclusive of the year metroid prime 4

I mean it seems clear that they are trying to let the light shine on their less appreciated series because the system is doing so well anyways

Some of those upgrades added so much to be fair, but yeah you don't even need to include them anyways

MKW did not have a mixed reception. It’s just a vocal minority of Redditors who can’t accept a change to the formula and rage baiters who were angry at the price. Online is thriving with packed lobbies.
Sure there’s no paid DLC yet but there’s a ton of content compared to base game MK8, so they can get away with releasing a DLC expansion later.
Mario Kart 8 lasted an entire decade when it was never intended to, so the post-launch content roadmap for World will likely also be a decade. Thats why they didn’t drop DLC six months after launch like they did with 8. They’re going to space it out so the game lasts longer. They’ve already dropped 4 new knockout tour cups in the past two months for free.
Nothing wrong with mentioning switch 2 editions or free updates. The idea of playing BOTW in 60fps was why people cried on twitter for 3 years begging for a Switch pro lol
