The people complaining about the intermissions pushed a narrative at launch that doing tricks off light posts, wall rides and charged jumps were slower to driving straight. This literally isn’t true. If anything you go way faster. There’s been tons of discoveries showing how mechanically deep MKW is and the high ceiling of expression.

The people complaining don’t withengage the new trick system which is why they don’t like intermissions. It’s literally the meme of two ppl playing Mario 64 with one person engaging with the movement and other person not

I’m not saying there aren’t valid criticisms of World. The open world needed progression. Unlocking costumes through food is dumb asl. Battle mode is ass and a huge step backward from 8DX. There should’ve been an option for 3 lap lobbies online.

And yeah not all intermissions are of high quality, but I’d argue there’s way more bangers than stinkers.

Knockout tour, which is the best mode in World, wouldn’t exist without intermissions. It’s a net benefit if anything.

Mario kart world is miles ahead of mk8 deluxe in anything but number of tracks and battle mode (until mkw gets DLC and 10 years of updates). Making this series more of a platformer as a Mario game should be is much more interesting than anti gravity which really is only cool in theory because while you're playing you don't even notice It. And mkw's course design is better because while being great tracks normally they also provide plenty ways to express yourself with the platforming.

Mario Kart 8: Deluxe doesn't have a Nintendo Switch 2 version of it but can be used on a Nintendo Switch 2 and gets a Nintendo Switch 2 patch so you're good if you got it.

But Nintendo Switch games who did get a remaster of them for the Nintendo Switch 2 is the version of the game I would recommend you to get.
