I'm specifically talking about the product that the companies are putting out, not their cultures. Also the activision/blizzard story was one of the biggest gaming stories of the year and got mainstream attention. You are daft if you think that Nintendo doesn't also have gross people at the top of their company. CEO's, COO's, CFO's, CMO's, etc are all power hungry people who have no problem abusing their power. Is it to the extent of activision/blizzard? Probably not, but it still exists.

The ins and outs of emulation are literally downloading an exe, dragging files into it and pressing play. If you've ever done a google search then you can set up an emulator in like 30 minutes. No pc building or intense coding required.

Also you aren't supporting the creators by paying for the service as not a single one of them will see a dime of your money. That money is going right into the hands of the executives as holiday bonuses and raises. That's like me saying I use Spotify to support my favorite artist because every stream I give them results in them getting 1/10000 of a cent.

Good to see. I just need Bomberman 64 and Bomberman Hero to be confirmed and I'll have all of my favorite N64 games all on Switch. Pokemon Stadium would be dope too. Pokémon Stadium had some really fun mini-games that would be great to play online with friends.

there was a focus on tight platforming which is why people love Mario games in the first place. Galaxy is just amazing at that. plus the music >>

odyssey has Mario's best movement bar none but the game is hindered by its simplicity.

there are hard levels. especially more of you 100% the game (which is how Mario games should be ayed Imo) but there's just too many moons just lying around on the ground in a level to make it feel rewarding sometimes.

1 - you're comparing a company offering games that may be too expensive for your tastes to companies that in some instances are filled with microtransactions that could've been part of the finished game or lootboxes that incentivize people even of young age to buy and possibly getting addicted to. Hell ubisoft has sent emails to far cry 6 owners who havent finished the game pressuring them to do so by calling basically calling them weak, and ea with fifa on switch has released literally the same game for 4 straight years with only a roster change charging 50€. Nintendo isnt ubisoft and ea cause nintendo releases full, polished games with hardly if any problems (when was the last time nintendo games had a day 1 patch?) that dont rely on s***ty mechanics to get more money out of you. The only problem i can think with their games is that one time they released a game for only a limited time which was btw criticized by basically anyone itt. If you think their games are overpriced that's fine, its your money, but claiming its comparable to the s*** ubisoft and ea do is stupid, there's nothing immoral about putting a price tag most people are willing to spend on their games, cause i assure you casuals who make up most of the consumers for all 4 major markets dont have these discussions about what price is right and if something is overpriced or not. If they think so, they just dont buy the product, and if many dont, the price is reduced. Nintendo does market a***ysis on this, they're not getting away with anything when the people are willing to spend full price for botw 4 years after its release.

2 - n64 expansion pack is completely optional. There's nothing you need or may even want rn from that service to justify this amount of outrage. You dont like what they've done with the service? Dont buy it, and if you also want to voice your complaints that's great too, but doing so in a toxic way isnt gonna help anyone. There's no reason to point fingers at people who are spending their money the way they want to just because they dont agree with you, and this is ever present itt. People who dont even play nintendo or care about any of this come here and post how Nintendo fans have some sort of stockholm syndrome cause we generally dont have the same opinions as them, claiming we're all blind sheep buying everything nintendo releases which is false and idiotic, look at wii u and 3ds.

3 - Nintendo are not saints, the recent metroid dread controversy about Mercury steam was s***ty and although it wasnt nintendo, they still have a say in this and i hope all devs get credited for their work as they should obviously be, but there's nothing else ever reported about anything that comes close to abuse of power, crunch, sexual harassment coming from them. We all know how iwata cut his paycheck in the wii u era to prevent layoffs. But the issue isnt even this: yes publications have released articles about activision, but i havent seen any gamer really care about any of that. I havent seen any comment on ubisoft and ea being s***ty all around, havent seen anything on rockstar and naughty dog overworking their devs in order to meet a deadline cause gamers want only shiny realistic graphics. Im not saying people should all start boycotting these companies, but bringing awareness about these issues does a lot and i think those are the problems gamers should be worried and be most vocal about, not nintendo charging 50$ for a completely optional service or sony releasing games on pc "betraying gamers' trust".

Frankly i think that people get mad about nintendo cause they dont cater to the hardcore gamers™, instead they try to cater to one of if not the most diverse range of consumers and tastes . Their consoles are weaker, their games dont have realistic graphics, they release party games, they focus on portability, they dont have voice chat, etc. Gamers think that gaming should be how Microsoft and sony market it to be, but Nintendo has their own ways to do things and if you disagree that's great, but there's no objective truth in any of the discussions people have on nintendo like pricing, games, hardware power. Its great to criticize nintendo for legitimate reasons like subpar online or joycon drift, but all the other s*** to me screams entitlement and just general b****ing. If you dont like how nintnedo does things there's no reason you should own a Nintendo console. If you want to play mario and zelda, wait for when the gen is ending and get all the mario and zelda games released in one go so you dont have to wait between releases and deal with practices you dont agree with
