I feel like they’ll show it off next year for a 2025 release IMO

Nintendo needs to not overthink this next gen console

Keep the same form factor, thin it out and better battery and have games look and run better

We ain’t asking to reinvent the wheel but we know Nintendo always likes to so I gusss we’ll see what happens

I just want to se TotK gameplay and thats it

They’ll probably end up doing the most ed and most unnecessary bullshit ever or they’ll just chill out and make a more powerful switch which is what everyone wants

yeah i know doubling down on an idea isn't really their thing going from generation to generation, but this form factor is the one to do it on

im all down for adding an extra gimmick, but just make the switch 2 and make sure it does everything the switch currently does

I think we'll be safe imo. Switch is already a culmination of all their gimmicks from previous consoles. You still have the motion. You still have the portable games. The party games. Home console games.

It's why Switch is so successful because it's everything you need as a Nintendo fan.

Of course Nintendo is hella unpredictable but I believe they know they'd be dumb to do something drastically different next.

Best timeline: Switch 2, backwards-compatible, more powerful, works with 4K, older Switch games run better on it

Neutral timeline: Clean break, new, more powerful home console with a unique gimmick

Worst timeline: All-in on some bizarre gimmick angle, think Virtual Boy 2

Its already a pretty good width, and tbh if they want it to be more capable to keep third party devs licensing games to them theyd want it to be a little thicker for more space, which im okay with. Its already about a half inch thick

Hope they overhaul the joycons tho, they feel good ergonomically but by god is the quality straight buns. Not to mention the longevity of it

Yeah you’re probably right. Switch is a good size. I guess in my head when a company releases a new updated electronic device, it’s thinner and more powerful

The #1 thing I want is for the next gen console to just be more capable. I want more “next gen” 3rd party games to be playable on it

I think the joycon drift lawsuits is the reason we haven’t gotten any “joycon 2.0” or “joycon pro” updated controllers

Updating or “fixing” the joycons would admit design flaws

If the next gen console is a Switch 2, we’ll def get better joycons

I think switch will be sold for 5+ years even past the switch 2, I don’t think production of old will have bearing on new switch

In order to maximize sales, it just makes sense, games like metroid prime 4 and new Mario games will drop on both consoles in 2024 and beyond.

they do this with most cycles. due to the fact that switch is still performing so well 6 years into the lifetime means it’ll be a bit longer cycle most likely.

I dont know where they'll find the demand for all those switches, yeah its popular yeah it sold a lot but its the 6th year in the market they cant stop a decline. I doubt Zelda and Mario movie will be enough, hell i dont think even a new Pokemon could increase demand atp
