Buy $100 eshop credit for $90 at Costco or some other online deal ($10 saved)
But the 2 vouchers for $100 with eshop credit ($5 saved because you got 500 gold points)
Use the 2 vouchers on 2 new games like Tears of the Kingdom and Pikmin 4 ($20 saved)

$35 saved total

And you can buy 4 vouchers to double that

$70 saved which is basically a free game and then some

Although risky because they expire in 12 months and who knows if there will be 4 new games released by February 2024 that you want

If Doom and Witcher can run on Switch (albeit heavily downgraded) I still believe Mario Kart 9 has so much overhead that it would look exponentially better than 8.

Next Mario kart coming on switch 2, its too late. Unless its cross gen but i really doubt it

I'll be the optimist in this thread and say either February 7th or 8th. I think there are too many signs indicating that it'll be next week.

while I agree with that I still think it would look way better than 9. but if it's a switch 2 thing then I'm truly excited so see the jump.

cuz while 8 is pretty if you actually stop and look there's a lot of flat textures and tricks they use since you're typically going fast. like most racing games.

I think 8th and 15th are realistic more than optimistic tbh, they always got one around this time so seems like a fair bet

Of course, even if it was made for switch 1 It would look a lot better than 8. Which Is also why im not too worried about totk performance. Botw is a Wii u game, and devs are more familiar with the hardware towards the end of its lifetime. Plus the 6 years of development; im sure they used the last year of delay to optimize the game. But yeah, i anticipate next gen to see what they cookin with that hardware. A mario game on PS4/PS4 pro level hardware will be insane

I keep hoping for S&V to be patched up enough to make it not look and run like complete dogshit. But everything else I've seen and heard about the game makes it seem so...boring.
