I have never played a Pokemon game from start to finish and I only own a Switch...where do I start?
Unfortunately switch got a not so great lineup of pokemon games. The best ones are lets go Pikachu/evee (if you havent played gen 1 or love It so much you'd replay it with better, actually good looking graphics) and legends Arceus (the most fun Pokemon game since black and White, and while unpolished graphically its at the very least better than sword/shield and scarlet/violet (not a high bar to surpass tho obviously). Otherwise you'd have to wait and hope they put the classics in the classic console apps.
Forgot to mention pokemon stadium for n64 which just dropped but you need a NSO sub to play it

A lil disclaimer for lets go games: they're easy, at times mindnumbingly so, and the catching system was ripped from pokemon go (idk if you can change this though) so if those two things can be a dealbreaker then im afraid those games wont be for you either.

Let’s Go Pikachu looks great but if you’re used to traditional Pokémon gameplay the new catching system will be a huge turn off.
Go with Pokémon Legends Arceus, one of the best games on the Switch and Pokémon games period. The graphics are fine.
NEW TRAILER IS BRAZY!
If any of you watch this and think it's just DLC, I might have to ban you from this thread until you come back to your senses (with love).

Had to pull the trigger on an oled switch

https://twitter.com/MyNintendoNews/status/1646839739964702720it was so f***in good man

playing this s*** on the 3ds and what a f***ing great game! the rhythm heaven games are so underrated
I saw the Mario movie this weekend and contrary to the worries online, Chris Pratt did a good job and I had no problem with him as the voice of Mario. It wasn't a bad fit at all. Movie was fun and charming. Not super deep in terms of story, and I would've liked for the movie to be longer because it felt like things happened pretty fast and in a very convenient matter. Overall really fun to see Mario and Luigi on the big screen and getting some backstory and neat little details here and there.
Indie Showcase announced for tomorrow!

question for swtich users
are the non-nintendo games any good on the switch?
like just as some random examples is NBA 2K, GTA, etc good for switch?

when you buy a switch version you either
a) have no other option with better performance
or b) you value the portability and can sacrifice the visual fidelity.
what's nice is you do technically get "two versions" a portable and a tv but not all major third party games are great. just read a review before you buy.

depends
honestly, most of the time - no
a lot of the third party ports such as those you described are worse, but you do get the portability factor with them, while sacrificing a lot (either whole gameplay features or at least, the graphical performance)
Switch is best when you're talking about the exclusives, for those blockbuster games, its best to just have a PS or an Xbox as the primary console

yeah that makes sense
im still getting the switch cos i for sure want the exclusive games anyway, but its good to know not to waste my money on third party games unless they specifically have sick reviews

yeah, always make sure you check the reviews when it comes to 3rd party games
that's not to say there aren't good ports or 3rd party games, Doom Eternal, The Witcher 3 or Draqon Quest XI immediately come to mind as great ports, but for every good port, there's like 3 awful ones

unless its some turn based game or something definitely don't get it for switch
