it would be such a treat to give Sunshine a proper remaster. Like fixing the issues it had (camera at times, making blue coins a little easier, just some polish here and there.). It was a rushed game and it could shine in it's full glory if these things among others would be fixed.

Super Mario Eclipse is a fantastic mod that is almost a full new game and it also has more of those segments.

For me the essence of Mario since the very beginning is speed and momentum, hauling ass through a level. You can't do that with flood. I'll take cappy and my precious long jump any day.

You can do it fast with flood
And even if you don’t want to do a full on speedrun there’s still ways to make Fludd and Mario go fast.
And as far as going fast, everyone seems to want a Galaxy 3 when Galaxy is by far the most slow Mario game there is. Makes no sense to me.
