Look at how the right joycon is placed in the right, screams mouse-con mode to me. They're soft confirming s*** with these countdowns

What’s awful? You talking about a specific feature or the whole Switch 2?

if a hefty amount of devs haven't even got a dev kit yet outside of presumably the most major devs it'll really be missing support on those third party titles in it's first year or two

It is true, but you have to consider most who are at gdc are small developers. The big third parties (capcom, square, bamco, take two, ubisoft, ea, microsoft) all have had devkits for around a year. Iirc the same happened with switch 1. This time tho we'll get more titles from them simply because of the sustained success of the switch

I have NO idea what they are gonna do for launch. Can they really rely on Kart 8 and MP4?

    f*** no

They imported units to US already prior to tarrifs. At least launch units won’t be affected

However MSRP could go up after launch

Gotcha, not sure if I should pre-order or not due to the possibility over time.

The units going to the US also come from countries not yet affected by tariffs iirc

All I know is nintendo / Microsoft / Sony is in f*** you mode and the price isn’t gonna go down on consoles anymore. No point waiting for a sale if you can afford it

    It’s gonna be $500

There’s no way it’s the same price as Steam Deck ($400) when it’s more powerful than it. Nintendo is going to charge a premium cus they know it’ll be the most advanced handheld/hybrid on the market

I’d love to be wrong and for it to be $400-450 tho

    So hyped. About 44 hours.

nah switch 2 is just a newer console, that’s why it’s more powerful. Not because it’s more expensive. It’ll be $400 for sure

i dont actually care about portable gaming. home console is all i actually want.

that said, i'm glad the portability of switch made it so popular so now everyone is on the switch train and they get lots of games and players and success cuz then that makes my experience better

but if they made a non portable switch i'd probably get that version

Steam deck being older doesn’t disprove anything I’m saying bruh they still charge $400 for it today

So…? Ps5 is still 400 and it’s 5 years old, how is that relevant? Im just saying whatever consoles drop in 2025 are inherently gonna be more powerful than the ones that dropped in 2022, because the tech is better. That doesn’t necessitate that it’s more expensive.

    https://insider-gaming.com/developers-say-nintendo-switch-2-dev-kits-dont-have-4k-output/

dev kits don’t have 4k output?!?

One guy heard from one guy that maybe some of the Dev kits don’t have 4k that’s the most wishy-washy rumor I’ve heard, but also why would some not have 4k and others have it imagine there’s 2 versions

They're also not pricing this as high as a ps5, and sony even offers lower price skus. Furukawa said the pricing will consider the affordability people expect from them. 400$ would still be profitable for them, i've seen the cost of manufacturing of the switch 2 is 338$.
