Pray for me brehs
Old PSU shorted, got a new one
Turned out cables were busted, so reconnected old one and plugged it in, exploded.
New PSU is also broken due to Amazon driver throwing it around so I need to buy a new one and test my parts to ensure they aren’t fried
They aren't fried. I will not be buying any new parts for a while I hope

Surface pro 9 with i7 and 16gb of ram is on sale rn and if i buy it it'd be around $2000CAD with that damn keyboard. I just might. I like the idea of having this tablet laptop combo.

I got out of the Apple eco system a couple of years ago. They consistently disappointed me with their choices over the years. Plus I like having full windows rather than apps.
I have a gaming pc and my current Macbook is pretty much dead in the water so I miss having a proper portable. Didn't even know the Surface line was already at its 9th Gen.
I did some mathematics and I think I'm buying this s*** this week. Watching hella reviews before I complete purchase though.

the M1 did catch my attention cuz it's all anyone talks about and I was thinking about it but it's still just a regular laptop. I like the Surface being able to be either a tablet or not. Ever since the Switch I like hybrid machines
The keyboard being an extra 200 is bullshit though for that paper ass thing I'm so mad.
Anyone got opinions on the quietest PSUs? Put noctuas in my rig and now the only thing that makes noise is the psu. Should i just replace the psu fan with another noctua lol
finally pulled the trigger on a keyboard, best decision I've made in awhile.

My CPU and GPU get a tad bit toastier than I’d like at times so I need to move my mobo, CPU, GPU, and SSD into a new better airflow case (Corsair 5000D Airflow) with a bigger AIO, new RAM, new PSU, and new fans. What order should I do this in? I’m really scared mainly about installing the CPU cooler and moving the motherboard because I hear all this stuff about possibly shorting your board by accidentally making contact with the case which confuses me even more if I’m supposed to touch the case every few minutes to get rid of static electricity…

1) yeah a lot of people just rub metal or the case every once and a while to avoid it but I'd just buy this or at least a wrist strap if your gonna do this, hook the clip piece to metal
2) what kind of hardware are you running? I've kept a 3090 cool in an ITX case with good air flow
Is your Intel CPU really getting that hot?

might just need some better fans
you would remove the AIO first, then pull out the PSU, then the motherboard with everything else. unless it's a tight fit you can leave the CPU, SSD, RAM all on the motherboard for the new install

I'll never understand people trying to save money on a PSU when it's like $30 cheaper and the rest of the computer was like $2000

I have a 13700K with a 7900XT but my AIO is only a 240 cuz I didn’t know better when I got it. Also the case has a pretty much closed front end so I think not great airflow. Playing starfield, CPU has spiked up to high 60s, even 70s at times. I know starfield is much more CPU heavy but it still of course gets nowhere close to fully utilizing the CPU so I’m scared what would happen if I actually ran a stress test on it.. GPU at 100% utilization typically runs around low to mid 70s with hotspot in mid 80s. I know both the CPU and GPU should be effectively fine at the temperatures I mentioned but they’re still just a tad up there for my own personal liking. Got the 5000D airflow and a 360 AIO to put it all in so should be great then, your help is much appreciated

yeah those aren't bad temps but yeah games are starting to use more CPU usage so it will prob only get worse
I still use a 5800x undervolted cause it uses barely any power. save the power usage and heat for the GPUs
and no prob I've built prob 50 PCs I use to do it for fun, looking through ewaste lol
