RTX 3080 and not RTX 3090? Well that at least... I would hope 2x the performance of a RTX 3080 Ti or RTX 3090/3090 Super tbh. But it seems like it'll be more impressive than the difference between a RTX 2080 Ti to RTX 3090 which got me considering waiting to build a PC until it drops in October 2022 or well whenever it drops in Q4 2022... Or well if it drops in September 2022 so would that be even better for me

And wait $3000? Oh wow... I hope that isn't true. It better not be over $2000 - $2500 or so will it be impossible for me to get or it will take a long time until I can afford it and by then so is a RTX 4090 Super maybe out lol... Oh well this should be good anyway

well the 3080ti is pretty similar to 2 1080s so it would be a much larger leap than usual.. like the 2080 is the same speed as the 1080ti

other than the 2080ti every card was just a rehash that gen so I'm not really getting my hopes up for a leap that big.. 10 series I think was the biggest leap ever and it wasn't that big

Nvidia always comes out with these numbers saying 4x faster but those are always in weird workloads that aren't games or in specific games they're cherry picked numbers

yeah I would definitely avoid a card priced that high and go for the 4080.. but it seems like some amount of people are willing to pay 400% more for a card to be on the bleeding edge even if it's only 10-20% more performance so maybe Nvidia does it

Well I gotta do it big since this is my first ever PC build... But after that am I willing to pay this much? Man dunno... Maybe if it's worth it. But I'll regardless of how impressive the jump will be see what Nvidia will show and tell us about the RTX 4090

And now well Intel... I hope that they'll make a comeback in 2022 and impress us after what hasn't been a good couple of years so far besides what their next CPU will be able to offer which is something I am looking forward to. AMD's stuff isn't bad though... I do typically look more forward to the Intel CPU's tbh.

But man I excited for what's next anyway and do hope these PC cases will be better in 2022 too as I need them to have some more support for USB C, HDMI 2.1 (Or it might be HDMI 2.2 in 2022 maybe?) and other stuff. I wouldn't mind also their been a place where I can install a Blu-Ray player as well as I don't like the external ones. Anyway man I do still feel like in 2022 so will it be good again been a gamer, Tech enthusiast and content creator

I'm honestly not too intersted in new CPUs, they are gaining more performance year after year then they were for a few years back.. that new CPU socket looks like it will be nice though for Intel to catch up with IO.

When everyone was releasing the same thing over and over basically but I game at 4k so I'm never CPU limited, every single game I play is GPU limited and the things I do that aren't gaming on my PC are also GPU limited so I'm very excited for new GPUs.

Yeah we should be getting way more devices with the new USB C next year but HDMI 2.1 isn't gonna be replaced for a while I feel.. it does 4k 240hz or 8k 120hz so no reason to waste money on ports for TVs & GPUs that can't even render 8k 240hz or 4k 360hz.

So the CPU's are good enough and is what PC gamers want while the GPU's could be better? Gotcha! That's why I am really excited for what Nvidia has in store for their 40 series GPU's in 2022

Hmm so it sounds like HDMI 2.1 on PC might not be replaced with a newer version of HDMI until 2023 maybe? Well I just hope that stuff is up-to-date including what PC also uses (DisplayPort 2.0) in 2022

Well it looks like I need to wait for those monitors who do support DisplayPort 2.0 and HDMI 2.1 at the same time... Including the motherboards/GPU's that do support it as well. Yeah I am good until 2022 famo

Depends on what you wanna use it for. I would say just get a regular 16:9 one tbh that does 4K @ 120/144 Hz plus G-Sync, HDR-10 (And try getting one where the HDR is at 1000) and if you can afford it so get an OLED monitor instead of a regular LED one. Also the bigger the better... So I would say let it be above 28"... So 32" or bigger

if you wanna game at 1080p with a 360hz screen the CPU can be a bottleneck but for 4k and 8k the GPU almost always is

the higher the frames the more calculations a CPU has to do

yeah maybe 2023 for the new HDMI it won't be a huge deal though till there are better screens and GPUs seems pointless for a few years at least

the new CAT looks nice for streaming between servers in your house but I don't even have fiber optic internet yet, if you live somewhere with 10gbe fiber though it will be nice though.. I think fiber will roll out more though so it's nice to have the standard

yeah I just use HDMI 2.1 for 4k 120hz 10bit has plenty of bandwidth for that but I'm sure there will be more Display options for monitors I already am seeing some new MiniLED gaming monitors that look like they have more options

DLAA looks interesting, AA can be pretty terrible in games sometimes I think a clean AA could be better than DLSS for some games lol

So I guess expecting all or most games to run in 8K @ 60 FPS or higher will take awhile... Gotcha. Gimme some games in 8K @ 60 FPS or higher and then the rest of the games been 4K @ 60 FPS - 240 FPS and I am good until 8K gaming becomes the standard for PC gaming. And well the same thing about consoles so am I good by the time it also it becomes possible or kinda possible for consoles by the time the PS5 Pro or well hopefully by the time the PS6 is out... Then so will be a happy gamer/Tech guy

Anyway lol no way so am I waiting until 2023 to build a PC. I'll hopefully do it in 2022 and then if all of the things I am looking out for is ready for 8K gaming in 2022 is ready... Then awesome... But if not so will I wait until I do build a new PC or do upgrade some of the parts inside of my PC like the GPU and other stuff until it's 2024 or something

4K and something above 60 FPS is good enough for me tbh

yeah I play games at 4k 60-120hz on my 3080 on high settings depends on the game but most games hold over 90hz+

so even if we get a 2x next year we'll still have plenty of bandwidth in HDMI 2.1 left

yeah next year should be good if we get those new GPUs with such a big leap like the rumors say

maybe with DLSS, DLA, FSR and Microsofts upscaling getting better we'll be able to have more games in 8k, as of right now though only old/low end games and Racing games run in 8k

right now I'm very happy with my 4k 120hz setup with an OLED screen

Yeah it sounds like what we're getting in 2022 is very promising so far... So 4K @ 60-240 FPS is where it's at until PC's etc. can do a lot or most games in 8K and hopefully over 60 FPS. But until then so will owning a 4K TV @ 120 Hz (OLED TV) and a monitor that can do 4K @ 144 - 240 Hz (OLED monitor too hopefully) be all I need until it's worth it upgrading the PC I'll build in 2022 hopefully

But yes DLSS etc. should be good enough until there's GPU's/CPU's out that can handle 8K gaming @ over 60 FPS and it of course been in native 8K without any bottleneck hopefully. Things are getting very interesting and exciting lately so am I not worried about where the PC/console stuff is moving and do hope it'll keep getting better

Well it should be announced in January 2022 at CES 2022... So I'm going to guess somewhere around Q1 - Q2 2022

And yes most definitely... I feel like 2022 will be a good time to build a PC and be satisfied with it. I feel like things are changing for the better and that Nvidia, Intel and AMD have some good stuff coming in 2022
