I regret not buying a Plex Lifetime pass years ago as I have a Nvidia Shield

    Live and learn I guess

  • Ain't know there was a Plex thread. I currently just my mac mini as a server and use it for movies/tv shows and anime and its so good. Not sure why I would want to purchase a subscription or w/e it is from them though

I got a stupid question. @Kr0niic i want to use a server to play 4k movies at the maximum video settings on my new TV in the living room. My personal server is in my computer room on the other side of the house. I use a mesh orbi system to get wifi from my modem all over my house. Would there be an issue trying to play or stream 4k movies onto my TV, or should I just use buy a cheap server to connect directly in my living room?

  • so should i cop the lifetime pass? I guess I have a couple months to decide

  • so i've run into an issue. Moved back in with my parents a couple months ago and they have these EERO extender routers all around the house. I have my laptop/hard drive upstairs connected to one of these extenders and when I try to watch stuff on the TV downstairs, I can't play it in its original quality unless I bring my laptop/hard drive downstairs and their connected to the same router... is there a solution here??

Shouldn’t be an issue if your tv / streaming device supports 4k and WiFi has enough bandwidth
