Going to be interesting to see how the Dems will shift things after this beat down
They need to find a way to disassociate themselves with the woke Twitter Cancel Culture stuff that the voting population is associating them with. It’s not appealing to pretty much every mainstream voting block, and very repelling.
Also get focused on plain economic focused messaging like Bernie has been talking about in his Op Eds.

distancing themselves wont help anything bc the right will paint them however they want to and the dems seem to roll over when it comes to messaging. the fact that anything resembling care for social injustice is deemed "woke" pejoratively is a representation of that
the dem party isnt even that left and yet the "lesson" they learn every time they drop the ball around election time is "we went too progressive". like they dropped nearly all police fund reallocation initiatives as soon as Biden took office but the GOP still says that's the dems are trying to fire all cops and their states are full of crime. here in tx, every GOP ad was about funding the police and border patrol because Biden and the dems were slashing the budgets
the problem with dems is they try to appease the right more than they do the people that actually vote for them
also hasnt the GOP's whole thing these past years been banning books and history/biology lesson plans via actual laws passed saying its "upsetting kids*"? banning trans kids from bathrooms and sports? firing teachers for being gay or teaching history? they are also obsessed with twitter and identity politics just as much if not more than anyone else. easy s*** to call out but its the left that's "too woke" and "all about cancel culture".
dems lame af

Even if the GOP will always set the narrative that doesn’t mean Dems have to play into it. Distancing themselves from those policies still help. There’s a difference between losing the narrative by a little and losing it by a lot

i just dont see any good in softening your message because your opposition keeps lying about it yet that's what the the dems seem to do all too often

What’s the message though? They don’t even support these policies anyway

in 2020, it was gaining support but was dropped completely as the GOP started their countermessaging and Biden took office

I think that was always going to happen though. I think the Dems best strategy narrative wise is to play up extremism on the right the same way the Republicans play up extremism on the left

yeah they are quick to give up on things like that. i agree that they need to hammer home that all that talk about the left growing increasingly extremist was projection from the right and call out how they've been propping up these once fringe candidates as the new faces of the GOP and what that entails

They’ve been doing that in my local races, but the GOP ads play up crime, the border, and even one add bashing Ukraine funding
Put up head to head the Dems wouldn’t be worse off but the issue is the ad ratio is about 65% pro-GOP, 35% Dem. Billionaires and corporations went back into the GOP fold compared to 2018 and are bankrolling these ads, very worrying

yeah no kidding. for every dem ad i see, there were 10 GOP ads before it
since its Beto v Abbott, theres a few pro-2A ads attacking Beto too. when the right is offering tax cuts, loopholes and decreased regulation, the moneyed class is going to go all in and that's a huge part of the problem

Mfs literally stormed the capital and still framing establishment Dems as extremists and doing successfully.

it just doesn't make sense
Conservatives in Ohio will says they hate big tech, then turn around and vote for JD Vance who was literally bankrolled by Peter Thiel.
And you can’t even tell them to Google that s*** because they don’t even trust Google
Trump finally publicly attacked Desantis
This primary is gonna be extremely entertaining

Trump after he absolutely bodies DeSantis in the primaries
I really don't know that it's clear that DeSantis runs if Trump does. In fact, I think it could be seen as foolish for him to.
He's still young, and if Trump loses the 2024 General, then it sets him up to be in a great position to run in 2028 and easily win the primary. Very hard to see how he would lure Trump's cult followers to vote for him in 2024, which he'd need to do to win.
Oop
u gotta understand that foreign leaders lie abt this s*** all the f***ing time. US goes on a "X country did Y bad thing" kick for a couple years, and to seize the clout, the accused country "owns up to it". Look at Gaddafi if u don't believe me. And a lot of the time, the accusations are false and the leaders who claim responsibility are lying their ass off. Not to mention that Russian leaders are practically always strategically lying, even when they're not dealing with the US.
Did Russia influence the 2018 election? probably. But a Russian official speaking on it is not the "case closed" type of evidence u seem to think it is.
