Oh Christ
He had been in at least one questionable relationship prior to Mayte—remember Anna Garcia circa 1988–early 1989?
Feels like MJ and Prince estates are having a mid-off to see which can do the worst job
Please tell me this still exists in the vault in CDQ
It does, lol.
Nearly everything exists in "CDQ" (studio quality more so) there unless it's been destroyed.

This is what i mean lol. How do we know Prince didn’t destroy this?? Imagine if this s***ty ai augmented bootleg is all we have left

Because guys like Neversin have it.
Whomst?
Insider and supposedly a kid (grown-up by now, of course, lol; he's probably 35-40 at the moment) of a friend of Prince's good friends.
Like, holy s***. If y'all haven't heard Dance In the Devil, y'all are missing out on the real deal. It's THE vault track imo. Prince had already released most of the best (and worst) vault material during his lifetime (Hits/B-Sides, Crystal Ball, The Vault: Old Friends 4 Sale & NPGMC releases), except this one.
This track is f***ing bananas.
Prince never made anything else as creepy and gothic as this ever again. It's like Anna Stesia but without the subtle bright light of optimism that that track offer. Whilst that track was about a battle of good and evil; in Dance With The Devil, it's very clear that evil is the victor here; this one is about pure darkness.
Have no Savior, have no faith
Never look for Heaven's gate
Devil's children, no love inside
There is a soul, but it has died
It's such a different track for him, because he very rarely created songs that had such a fatalistic view of the world. I can think of what, 3 other songs that are so down-on-your-luck-I-have-no joy-left-to-receive-or-give -type-vibe in this dude's entire discography? (Something In The Water, Gotta Broken Heart Again, I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man, My Little Pill)
Dance with the devil in the pale moonlight
Put your arms around him and hold him tight
Give up to the feeling and don't try to fight
He wants your soul and he wants it tonight
Dance with the devil in the pale moonlight
Put your arms around him and hold him tight
Close your eyes to love and die
The Batman movie and Sounds of Blackness (?) samples add perfect mood to the track. The piano keys, the eerie instrumentation, are just perfect. The drum programming- classic Prince- is subtely amazing. Listen to those subtle percussive things happening after the "Dance with the Devil" hook. The funniest thing about the drums, and Idk if this is because this track is unfinished, but this is a pretty stock sounding Linn Drum sound that Prince has going here, which, if anyone has ever listened to how he programmed drums, is very unlike him. This track also has some of the best backing vocals he's ever made in his career. Prince was always a GOAT when it came to doing multitracked vocals, but this track just takes the f***ing cake. Bro achieves an eerie, gothic choir-esque sound with his vox, and it just adds to the scary atmosphere of the track.
Anyway. Go f***ing listen to it! This motherfucker is Halloween ready too y'all.

Supposedly, there's a lot of insane s*** we haven't heard, or/and we don't even know it exists in the vault.

There’s a rumour John Branca was approached to lead the Prince Estate
Just count yourselves lucky they didn’t commit art forgery and release tracks that weren’t Prince singing lol

they reveal a little bit every time they do one of their insider celebrations and then radio silence for another year...
