there are valid and respectable defenses of conservative thought. i don’t agree with them, but i also don’t see them being given by most self identified people on the right

if anything, bringing up the fact that historically speaking, the right wing in the west demonizes us extensively and how if/when this "culture war" against LGBT folks (which before I converted, I was apart of/can still sympathize with them without compromising my beliefs), they're going to turn use that same rhetoric of "religious freedom" to discriminate against Muslims.

I don’t understand this type of thinking at all. Why is it surprising who are strongly religious or come from certain cultural follow their religious or cultural beliefs?
