Dealing with that rn. Which nb you running?
I go between multiple shoes depending on the day.
Currently running with NB Rebel V4s and SuperComp Trainer V3.
Originally was using Gel Nimbus 25s and MagicSpeed 3s. Which is crazy because I used to swear by them.
I went to physical therapy and it did absolutely nothing. Felt like I wasted insurance money tbh.
Can’t run yet but I’m walkin with yall
Asics Sonic Blast already going for under $100 where I'm at should I get it
Also all the flagship models from last year actually
Running a half in 2 weeks
last time I did it my time was horrible (2h30mins)
Aiming to 2h but it's going to be tough
Goal was to lose 10lb for the run but then I gained 10lbs and lost that so we are back to where we started

Somehow that happens when you train for a race or ramp up the weekly mileage. You think you need to eat more when you train more, but I guess it’s just psychological. As long as you were putting in the work and the fitness is up, it shouldn’t matter. Maybe you gained pounds of leg muscle to pound the pavement even harder!

appreciate it bro
not a runner in any sense but I want to prove to myself I can do it
Probably running closer to 10min miles for the first 6-7 miles and then around 11 min miles higher pace for the last 6 miles

Are you fueling before and during your runs? It makes a huge difference

never during, what would you recommend?
I was doing gu gels, but they are like 2-3 bucks a pop. But now I’m on haribo gummy bears. Like a dozen before the run, and another dozen .5 hours into run. A lot cheaper

i thought your need the sugar for the energy, i dont like how it sits in ur stomach so long, i will try it out on my next long run though

nah you need carbs for energy in the moment. way to look at it is your body turns into a furnace during your run. it can run for only so long on whatever you put in it ahead of your run, and it better be some carbs because those fats and proteins dont supply energy in the same way
you dont run for too long because you get tired quicker if you dont put nothing in it. for short runs less than 12 km/7 miles it might not be a problem if youre training regularly, though obviously its not recommended either way. for longer runs you might not wanna overload your plate so to speak before your run if your stomach cant handle it (mine cant for example and midway thru it sometimes turns into a bathroom run)
this is where the gummy bears come in as a quick and dirty source of those carbs that energize you during the run. gels are basically the same thing except they dont contain fats calories and whatever else you might get from candy. they might contain caffeine for example and it spikes your s*** for an extra boost. but eating gels for your training really really depends; if you adhere to a program and your trainer recommends it (over gummies) then yeah you prob oughta do it. if not and you struggle with longer runs for a reason you cant pinpoint then try a handful of gummies or gummy worms midway thru your run or whenever you start 'losing interest' and wanna stop
far as sitting in your stomach yeah it sucks, and theyre all super sugary too so your mouth gets sweet and annoying as f*** too. thats how i learned to tolerate licorice lol at least its not sweet and my mouth simply tastes like s***
but hey for a day to day its not too terrible
not a runner but thought id drop in here to say i have 2 years experience with achiles tendinitis recovery with a professional physio and happy to help anyone in need anytime
🚶

Maybe do 10 gummies at half way point and you’ll be able to go longer and stronger like a blue chew
