currently trying to get into the filming aspect of skating, this is my inspiration rn
in, aint see the thread
went down to a 7.75 to try & lock in my heelflips, but my big ass feet make landing on this s*** difficult 😅
Kanye a skateboarder now
“It’s perfect for skating,” West says with pride. “It’s super soothing to walk into.” As he trails off, beaming with his signature childlike wonder, I suddenly realize what he’s just said. When you say skating, do you mean skateboarding? I ask. “Yeah,” West says. “That was the original brief for this house: It has to be completely skateable.” The architects all nod along. So is it still skateable? “Oh,” Kanye says matter-of-factly. “It’s more skateable than ever.”
felt so good to get out there today
Started back skating after getting over runners knee. Finally got some solid back boards in on a ledge. Tryna learn back noseslides soon.
i’ve only ever ridden Kryptonics 😂by the time i was old enough to buy my own i lost interest... id like to get back tho. just don’t have money for a complete board.
Got a enjoi kitty board with rainbows when I was going thru the Tyler XD random phase still need to learn some trixs
So I’m thinking of taking up skating
Never grew up skating so I would be starting from scratch lol
I mean I been on boards never owned a board or learners to ride one
How do I get started? Any articles or videos on what size board to get?

For boards, I recommend getting a size 8 - 8.5. The sizes have different pros and cons ie a more narrow board will be easier to do flip tricks but a wider board will be more stable and comfortable to ride. You might also want to consider how big your feet are as well. If you have a skate shop nearby you could probably try standing on the decks if you ask the guys that work there
For trucks, the size depends on what size board you want. There are charts that’ll help you pick. I recommend getting independent trucks or thunder trucks.
For wheels, I recommend getting 53 mm wheels as they’re in between a smaller wheel and a bigger wheel. The smaller the wheel, the lighter they are which makes tricks easier but aren’t as comfortable to ride. Vice versa for bigger wheels. Spitfire Formula 4 conical fulls are my favorite.
For hardware, bearings, grip it’s all the same pretty much so buy whatever you want.
If you have any other questions lmk! Or if you want links to any of the stuff I rec

Thanks for the info first of all! Really appreciate it bro
Yeah, judging from a couple YouTube videos I was watching, I was thinking a size 8 board would be perfect. Seen people say it’s a best of both worlds type of board. Also my shoe size is a 9-US if that matters.
I haven’t done research, this was just the first site that popped up, but I wanted a custom board. Something Kanye related lol. From this site shop.ccs.com/custom-skateboard-complete
Do you recommend getting a board already put together for you or buying just the deck and buying the other parts separately? The site I linked above says you can have it assembled for you or you can assemble it yourself and they’ll give you free tools to put it together yourself
Yeah def send me some links on what you like. Def opening to any brand since I’m a beginner

No worries man it’s cool to see new people getting into skating!
Since you’re new it would probably be better to get it preassembled. Actually, one of my friends recently bought a complete from ccs and they did a great job. The parts that come with the complete are their brand stuff (ccs trucks, wheels, bearings, etc). It might not matter to you but that’s just a heads up!
Parts I recommend:
