Ps5 had shortages for like the first 2 years of its existence though

Dude, these generations don't last no more than 7-8 years. Shortages or not, we damn near half way through a typical cycle.
Nah we better not be getting a pro this soon wtf man
It's not coming out this year though... What we know so far is that it's coming between Holiday 2024 - Holiday 2025
Hi guys, long time lurker, ocasional poster. Whoop whoop.
Anywho, I just picked up a PlayStation 5. I’m not a gamer what so ever. I just picked it up to watch ultra hd Blu-ray tbh and play games here and there.
Can anybody name some game suggestions? I remember playing Last of Us, and GTA V story mode on PS3. I like story games like that. I don’t have online, and doubt I want to pay for it so I’m looking for good story games.
Well. If you liked GTA V on PS3, I'm sure you'd love Rockstars newest output, GTA V on PS5

I hope we dont see a pro til Holiday 2025 but its Sony so likely next year

Just wild to me because I feel like we haven’t even gotten that many current gen exclusive games to take advantage of the ps5 power. Everything has been held back by previous gen.

We have barely if at all gotten UE5 games. I agree. Realistically releasing a Pro like 2026 2027 would be better actually push the PS5 first but there is such a focus on 4k 60fps over actual scope of mechanics that it will come sooner.

I feel like first party games could definitely get 4k60 on the current ps5 tbh. Like if ER was ps5 exclusive they could’ve focused more on optimizing.

lol the obsession with 4k 60 when doing 4k 60 often means they can't accomplish too much actual new mechanics for many of them. Like many of the 4k 60 games could be on ps4 pro in lower performance but perform like Ragnarok. I rather have actual mechanics and systems completely not possible on old consoles

Oh yeah I agree I don’t even game on a 4k monitor lmao 1080x60 is plenty for me. Half of these pretty games aren’t even fun, barely got through like 5 hours of horizon FW.
Numbers sell tho can’t deny that
Nice, never finished the og Alan Wake so bout to play through this remaster for sure
Copping a 2.1 Channel soundbar syatem for my PS5 today
not even gonna hop on today until I cop
They saying tlou part 2 cost 200mill to make
If anyone can answer these questions for me
Is that high cost mainly due to how long the game takes to make?
Or is it marketing, but where does the majority of the money go into the game
I loved the game plays great and looks good, but a nigga could make some of those levels with ai in unreal engine for free

How long it takes to make yes this is a major factor for Naughty Dog staff especially with the level of crunch they were doing and the original even if small delay. Marketing also plays a part . The high production value of games is adding up even on games they know many will only play once. Like yes we will think about it but even the most linear game can and often is expensive.
