The smartest investment MS can make for their next console is either bringing their sports division back to make officially licensed NFL, NBA games or getting EA to make an exclusive version of Madden just for their console, to make the PS5 version look old

Or release Forza Horizon 4 on PlayStation and only FH4. Forza Horizon 6, set in Japan, to be a permanent Xbox console exclusive
FH is part of that group of games that casuals are interested in (COD, 2K, etc.).

MS has so many ways to go about counter punching Sony, its kinda crazy. The Xbox division might be pump faking the f*** out of Sony with this exclusive swap stuff. Do you realize that Xbox has the keys to make the next, actual next gen COD, exclusive to Xbox?

I think they genuinely might call that Call Of Duty 5, and promote it as the real follow up to COD 4:MW, story be damned next gen might be insane

based on parts alone PS5 Pro will be $699.99 USD lmao i just got a PS5 like 6 months ago f*** plus i know the Switch 2 will drop around March 2025 marking 8 years since the Switch OG and im not spending $1500 on two consoles

hopefully it doesnt mean that optimization on PS5 games is left to the wayside on a Apple iPhone type beat

You can always just trade in your PS5 for a discount on the Pro, but the PS brand is definitely swinging its d*** on consumers with this one lol. If I didn't have a PS5 already, I probably wouldn't even cop right now, and idk if it'd smart to cop a Pro so soon either.

I'd peep how the gaming market looks going into next yr, with Switch 2 and the like.

COD can’t be exclusive to Xbox for at least 10 years; Sony signed a 10-year deal with Microsoft to keep COD on PlayStation.

MW2019 was basically already the successor to the original MW subseries.
THE FINALS s***s on COD though

True, the reboot was the sequel kind of lol. MS still has alot of ways to go into the next gen. MS isn't Sega, they have enough money to set the tone for next gen and bite Sonys ass. Rebrand and big exclusives are really needed for Xbox though.

There’s no killer app launching with PS5 Pro this fall though, unless Concord is somehow a banger.

If it’s about owning the best system to play GTA VI on then might as well just wait to cop a Pro when that releases (really expecting that game to launch in Q4 2025).

I like how Xbox users always seem optimistic and positive about their lot. Whereas PS fans seem like malcontent idiots complaining about gaas and pretending they weren’t dumb af when a good game like Helldivers comes around.

That being said, Microsoft selling less consoles than the one isn’t a galaxy brain strat. Making cod exclusive kneecaps its revenue, which leads to more layoffs. If anything Microsoft are closer to going third party than doing all that

I mean everyone expected this. Ps4 pro came 4 years after ps4. It’s like clockwork.

But the ps4 had games. And the pro is gonna be easier to get than the trials we had to go thru to get the 5

to be fair the first 4 years of ps4 only had a couple classics. Basically bloodborne and uncharted 4 I think and that’s it

God of war, Spider-Man, ghost of tsushima, tlou2, ff7 remake were all in the last few years of ps4. Ps5 will be the same way it seems.

yeah i'm with u and im not a big Sony fan at all like i play FIFA, CoD, Spidey and FF on PS5 and the rest on Xbox or Switch of course

but yeah like u said GTA 6 @ 60fps in the living room on my 75" might require the PS5 Pro and i'm not interested copping an $800 CAD console and a $150 CAD game at the same time so i guess it's just the move for most people to buy one this holiday

I feel you maybe the ps3 - ps4 jump felt more dramatic than the 4-5 jump which is why I’m salty they’re already dropping a ps5 pro

NBA and NFL will never allow those games to be exclusive. Look at what happened with MLB The Show

Yea, MS is taking most of the charge on this front tbh. Guess im thinking about Sony games going to PC. As far as the NBA/NFL stuff, its very much possible MS can get the 1st dibs on the first next gen versions of 2K/Madden, if their the first next gen console(just like with the 360). Just like how MS can give Sony a whole other version of COD vs their next gen iteration..

MS has alot of advantages if their the first next gen console.

MS can do that with CoD (after the 10 year contract expires) because they aren't beholden to any licensing. NBA and NFL aren't going to agree to having their games be exclusive/be less enticing on a platform with a bigger userbase.

Not to mention they'd have to pry the licensing away from 2K in the first place.

We'll see, if MS is serious about this rebrand and bouncing back, their gonna need advantages like that. GamePass only goes so far when no one wants your hardware.

It's not about MS, It's about the NBA and NFL

Hardware, for better or worse, isn't MS main plan anyway
