Are those rumors that sony is going to downscale when playing ps4 games on the ps5 accurate? Seen a couple people on reddit mentioning this saying that's how there gonna handle backwards compatibility...I hope thats not true tbh.

If they’re talking about the gpu modes on Sony’s PS5 APU then that’s correct. Its most likely to do with keeping games intact. You can’t just increase the frame rate on a game without it breaking things.

The winner of any generation usually gets complacent and f***s up the next one

Plus the manufacturing problems and the fact that they most likely will have the weaker console (albeit perhaps cheaper)

Honestly think both companies have learned from past mistakes and will come out with damn near identical products, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if Sony screwed up in some way.

Now that xbox is confirmed 12TF we can pretty much be sure PS5 is at 10TF based on the AMD leak.

And with there announcement with all these diffrent companies to bring some huge jrpg's to gamepass I think they are on there way.

They at the very least know how important jrpg's are. They almost bought platinum games.

Depends on the scale and vision of the game, but in general if one is weaker a lot of things would have to be cut. The issue is that the game would have to be aimed for the lower tier console so a lot of features would be taken out of reduced.
Some talented developers might be able to do it but the vision itself has to be compromised for the lower tier console depending on it's power gap. The people who bought the higher end Xbox would feel shafted.
Again this is speculation, it would depend on how strong the gap is between the 2 consoles.

Sony already announced some of the features Xbox announced today for PS5.

Has Sony ever lost a home console generation though? 360 definitely ruled USA for most of its time but I think PS3 ended up selling more units by the end of the Gen

I mean the USA overwhelmingly spends more on actual games than any other country than china so the xbox dominating 360 sales was a huge loss for the ps3 even if overall sales of the console were close.
