I feel that. If there's enough good games at launch then I most likely will too, but if it's just Gran Turismo or something then I'll probably wait and see if there's anything wrong with them. First batch of consoles might have problems.

I'm about to hack this mf

No there’s no point, they will probably just patch it.

What if the only difference is resolution?

That would be pretty good for them but if the console is significantly weaker, games would have to be developed for the weaker one so a lot of their own fans would be angry. I'm talking the exclusives mostly but that generally won't sit well with Xbox fans either. There would be a general perception that the weaker one is holding back the game for stronger consoles even if it's not true.

Cyberpunk 2077 confirmed to use Xbox Smart Delivery

Buy the game once you get a copy on both console generations

Hopefully sony has a plan in place for this

Yeah but makes the cheaper version of the xbox useless for the first 2 years. no point in upgrading until they stop supporting it.

Nothing suggests its planned to launch day one, that’s speculation.
Its not useless if you want a cheap next gen experience, those people exist

What would the cheaper Lockhart version lose though that isn’t graphics?

Y'all getting it Day 1? I might wait a while tbh

Nah I don’t think there’s gonna be a game I wanna play on it released til maybe holiday 2021

I didn’t buy PS4 day 1 either cuz I don’t care about Knack or Killzone

In general the game would have longer development cycle testing for both versions but the games would generally have to be cut down in the development. Little things and general scale might have to be toned down to run on the lower end console. Look at games at the start of this gen and games towards the end of it or even from the start of the Xbox 360 and the later years of it. This is all speculation however.

Is it possible to make the console only weaker in one area like resolution? Or would everything have to be effected?

yeah but instead of playing it on series x and emulating how it will run on the xbox one, it will take full advantage of series x features and basically be the "remastered" version for free.

think of it between tlou ps3 vs ps4 version, instead of charging 60$ each time it will be free if you owned it on xbox one

Also if Sony does announce that it would put alot more pressure on the other big studios to do the same thing.

    I really hope they do.

Yeah that’s exactly how ps4/PS5 will work, this was already announced as a key feature.

The idea is that they want to convince millions of PS4 owners to all drop $400 on a new console, so it’s intriguing to the buyer that their current ps4 titles will run almost “remastered” like you said in 8k or whatever it will output
