I believe 8 of the hard-right republicans thought he wasn't far right enough. So the 8 of them plus all democrats voted to oust him (lol). But now they vote for a replacement, who might not even be as right as mccarthy was. Seems like they're kind of f***ing over their own party, but i could be wrong
