Imo anything over or just at 1 quart of oil lost in 1000 miles or less is cause for serious concern.

He can drive it he has to he vigilant and fill it regularly.

I used to own a 32 year old car and I NEVER ran it dry or low on oil. And it leaked oil everywhere

Depends on the year and model. I had a 1997 civic with an oil leak for 4 years until it didn’t pass smog. Other than that i would’ve kept driving it.

Don’t listen to everyone in here tho it’s fixable, I just didn’t fix mine because it was an old ass car.

they have serious electrical problems too. since it’s just a commuter car a few will make it the long run but there’s a lot of stuff that could fail on the way

oil leak is obviously fixable but i was just pointing out it’s one of the few cars that are absolutely not worth continuously fixing
