Not at all man I just wanted to open up conversation. I’m not necessarily all in on Flat Earth I’m just not as dismissive of it as I was yesterday.

People believed in flat earth a long time ago. Now we believe in a sphere like object. Why lie about the sphere? What does it gain from all of us?
Everything else in our solar system is roundish, so why not Earth?

With today's technology any small group of researches can prove that the Earth is round lol, it's not something that the government has control of

You can’t just say that. Presumably I could go to the coordinates where the encyclopedia in OP says the dome is visible and see for myself. But I can’t because only certain parts of Antarctica can be travelled to. We don’t have all the information available to us that governments do nor the access

On a smaller scale though, why lie about the size of Africa (on current day maps and globes)? It’s been confirmed to be the biggest continent but still depicted as smaller

That's exactly why this conspiracy is bullshit. You would need to go to some remote part of Antarctica to prove it. It's practically unfalsifiable. To prove the Earth is round all you need is some basic understanding of physics

because you can’t accurately depict a 3D sphere on a 2D surface without distortion. Africa’s position as the only equatorial continent means it’s depictions look different than the equal distortions northern (North America, Europe, Asia) and southern continents (Oceania, South America) experience

That comparison doesn't make sense since they wanted Africa to be inferior, but we're the only planet here. What flex do we have being a sphere just like any other space body? It would be cooler if we were actually dome
