I don't want to sound like a dust head but hip-hop has always been about being real so that's what I look for. It's a lot of younger rap fans that don't care but that leads to labels just hiring actors to play rapper.

Music will come off much more real in your lyrics and how you spit them vs a fake so it does help the music to.
