“I’d rather have three hours of boring blasé s*** to hear 8 great tracks than have an amazing 7 track project”
Literally the definition of hedonism. Do you only care for what you like and not what the artist sets out to do? Whats the point of music as an art form? Is it just s*** for you to consume now?
Maybe it’s pretentious to present this attitude but the people making many of these shorter projects are making personal and grounded statements. Even drakes projects have strong personal narratives. To dispel its quality simply because you want “more” Is disrespectful
but there isn’t LMAO
aight so drake didn't release 7 good songs in the last three years. some of yall really taking this 'loving or hating drake' thing to heart lol
Drake moved on and dissed Ye cause it was an easier target for him. Everyone hated Ye at that time so instead of going at the man that went at his neck, he chose the safer route lmao
whoever at his camp suggested to go after Kanye in the midst of this should be paid in millions. its insane how much press drake still gets out of that
I really enjoyed it. I haven’t revisited it since the month it dropped though admittedly

So a couple of good songs on DIFFERENT projects makes that better than what Daytona was? That’s a dumb opinion.

if at the end of the day the only thing you have to your name is a 21-minute project without any significant contributions aside from that -- honestly, I can do more with those three hours. it's not migos ii and iii bad anyhow
what you said is super f***ing pretentious but I guess you figured that out yourself. the artist can get their rocks off however they want, but at the end of the day its my personal enjoyment and im not going to sit here acting like a small helping of good bars is all that and im got till the next decade comes around
im not gonna ignore the context regardless of how much folks itt want me to. from the jump I said its a good album but im not gonna babysit it for multiple years acting like nothing else came close to it. there are exceptions, and Daytona isn't one
Also Ye is a top 5 ye album. You just need to listen to it again
I like ye tbh just cant really put it higher than my favorites
I miss Push
he's still alive

I agree that its pointless to compare a fully realized project against seven separate songs, though it was you who disagreed with drake having just as much if not more good songs post-daytona. that would be unfair to pit one against the other for sure
still though, you have to be dead set on not enjoying a musician's music to claim you'd rather have one good project that is a tiny fracture of that musician's entire body of work

The thing with Daytona is that despite its length, it’s a very strong project that doesn’t feel short or not enough. Somehow, that length feels just right in terms of runtime. It’s a perfect album to me tbh

yeah, its concise and does what it is set to do well. maybe it'd be easier for me to accept this project if that trend really took off. I do see albums getting shorter and shorter recently, especially if they're going for that 'album as a statement' idea
Would be the best rap album this year and last year
Not saying much at all.
It’s everything I’d want from a Pusha T album…so if the rest of his discog is still something you’d play and hasn’t aged, why not this? The production and lyrics are as good and/or close to as good as Hell Hath No Fury. It’s just a short album, but does a lot in its run time.
I can see if you don’t like his music in general, but I don’t see how Daytona would be a bad aged album in comparison to his other work if you like his other stuff.
beats still amazing
bars still hard just because you listened to it and caught them all doesnt mean it didnt age well bro lmao
its historic significance now makes it even more legendary
