Older music comes from a more rebellious culture which people want to live through. I remember in middle school a lot of kids who won’t listen to pop or rap music we’re listening to rock and metal from decades prior.

I don't really care about the 'rebellious' culture, I only care about sounds and how they're laid down

    What do you expect ?

Rappers are resorting to twerking on Satan, making overly provocative music videos and putting basically eveything on gimmicks, memes and controversies to sell records because the music can't speak for itself.

That bubblegum pop s*** got old and these pop stars are incapable of reinventing themselves, so they're trapped in a dying format and are forced now more than ever to steal from other genres to make their music more interresting.

Music listeners aren't dumb they know most of the songs being shilled today is soulless garbage.

I mean I may be oversimplifying this but there are way more old songs than new so this should make sense right? I’m sure the panny played a part in this as well
