I went down a rabbithole of old OF and Tyler s*** recently, and I really think it's crazy how talented he was at such a young age.
His s*** was dark as f*** and no where near where he is now, but it was still hella cool, and I'd be interested in seeing if KTT2 can appriciate.
Some stand out tracks:
His beats will always impress me, they were so cool to me in high school and still hold up

he has some nice beats but to me all that s*** aged bad.
Haven’t listened to this in forever but I still know all the words lol
Was a more interesting artist back then
i dont about all that but they def had a crazy energy he doesn't rly tap into anymore

He's less unique now, more of a formula artist.

I sometimes think this too. He's definitely better now, but his style, unique flare, attitude, etc. of that era was straight lightning in a bottle.
I honestly think if he had less of a borderline iconic aura about him in those days people would have absolutely NOT put up with his s***, because with a couple exceptions, the music was NOT that good.

Idk, I'm not sure I'd say that it aged "bad" per say, in the sense that it just sucks now, but its flaws are definitely more apparent these days.
Still bump Goblin when I'm in those dark moods tho

lol yeah I can still do this whole s*** front to back

Removing the horror element was a mistake made to appeal to another audience

No one but edgy teenagers are trying to hear that stuff
I definitely wouldn't say that, he's getting more professional, learning more music theory, and taking more direct influences from funk/soul and mixing it with hip-hop.
He's getting more constrained by those sounds and with each release he's original flair is getting suppressed by following those influences. The last truly original album that felt completely like Tyler was Flower Boy. IGOR really was on some other s*** and is commendable tho.
I see why he switched up but his old dark s*** classic i dont even think he could tap into that anymore

I just can't get past the lyrics and the beats but yeah inglorious, lets dance, seven, maybe vcr or wheels 1, she even though I don't really enjoy the lyrics no more, and fish
