I'm kinda joking but look at how much of a focus is put on dance routines and stage production over musicianship to this day. Before MJ the focus was more on the actual musical elements of the performance. Obviously MJ had the tunes to back it up and could still sing at his highest level while dancing his ass off but he was an alien. Now everybodys performances are in the MJ mold but so many artists lip sync cause they can't actually pull it off.
