Saying that doesn’t supplement anything. He had money, fame, and connections then and still does now, so what changed?
Dave Chappelle made a whole skit about the s***, there was no rumors about what he was doing. People - even myself being a elementary aged kid at the time - knew wtf was goin on
Nah the money and fame really might have had a big part of it. Also different times of course. Once Kelly started getting in trouble with the IRS and s*** is when all this really began to crumble. As the times changed and people felt that he should face something for this he kinda "exiled" himself to his own weirdo s***cult s***. More and more started to come out and his former collaborators would distance themselves from him so he was really on his own to deal with it for once.
No doubt it's wrong and many of the people he was frequent collaborators with should also be called out but chances are that ain't gonna happen
It always was weird how R Kelly's nastiness has really always been known and people would frequently make fun of him for it and call it out. Dave Chappelle, The Boondocks, etc. I think another reason why he was able to "get away with it" for so long is because after that initial trial which was back in...2003 or 2004? The case ended because the victim refused to testify and so the courts couldn't do anything but find him not guilty on all the counts they had against him.
Pretty much became a "We know he did it, but the courts called him not guilty so he's a free man" kinda thing. Which is why I always say just cause a nigga is found not guilty or the case is dropped it doesn't automatically mean that the nigga didn't do the crime. Especially when there is a mountain of evidence that proves the case against them. The American judicial system is a joke and its easy to cop pleas and get away with s*** if you got the money for it.
Spatulaaa
Outside of f***in young chicks and forcing others to be his slave or w/e, half the s*** ain’t really illegal. It’s not against the law to shove a d**** up your ass if that’s what you like. Some of this s*** they bring up in court is just character assassination and irrelevant

Genius idiot
This really just leads me back to the many threads I've seen recently with niggas saying "Why don't these women just speak out against their abusers" and these dudes refuse to believe that some of these women forreal be traumatized by the s*** and would just rather move on from it

“Outside of f***in young chicks and forcing others to be his s***slaves or w/e”
You say this so casually
When all of this guys songs are about the stuff he’s in court for and saying a 14 year old Aaliyah has a “vibe”
How can you separate the art from the artist?
What’s crazy about this is Aaliyah was actually 12
Some of you find any way to defend this guy
I’m not defending him, I’m saying to talk about what’s relevant. He won’t get any jail time for d****s

Yes, all I’m saying is talk about what’s relevant. D****s won’t put him behind bars and that’s the point of this case

It’s against the law to have a 16 year old shove a d**** up your ass if you’re a grown ass man

and there’s a lot more than we realize smh s*** is disgusting
The most fascinating thing about all of this is how many people had to be complicit in Kellz actions, that are not standing trial.
This is a hundreds of thousands of dollars operation for sure in which runners, managers, assistants, etc. were all involved and I'm positive knew of his deeds and transgressions.
In particular, the Aaliyah thing is WILD. I still can't wrap my head around it.
