Has their been any point in the manga or anime that officially confirms Luffy overcoming the side effects of using gear second?

Because I'm pretty sure it was stated in his fight with Rob Lucci that the technique eats away at his life span every time he uses it. And since then it's pretty replaced his base move set.

Just getting into this flashback too maaaaan

I stopped watching OP in the 600s during the punk hazard arc. I just couldn't stand the typical long running shounen fluff in each episode. I'd get like 5 minutes worth of story in a 20 minutes episode. hate that s***. Is it worth continuing?
