Chief JulioSee, I thought that too but I'm starting to second guess that. How would he know that Boa would get that strong to the point where making a clone of her would be worth it. And if it was so simple as to taking the lineage factor from clones, we can extrapolate that to prisoners too. Why waste your time getting the LF from a teenage Boa Hancock when you have Kaido getting locked up for sport as well as Gol D. Roger?
the world govt/Vegapunk seemed to only care about the lineage factor/DNA of devil fruit users to strengthen their clone army so an ailing DF-less Roger might not have been as useful. it also wouldnt matter if Boa ended up strong or not since the DF is what they were after and the clones can be controlled (to an extent) later to use the abilities to their fullest. Kaido's LF data might have been used up to make the failed DF Momo ended up eating before the project was abandoned so that why we havent seen a Kaido seraphim

They were the last truly free men in the world if you ask me

There was an actual pirate named Sam Bellamy. If I remember right, he was estimated to have been the richest man in the world before his doom. Rly recommend looking into his story, it’s both badass and tragic as far as his ending goes

Yeah I wonder a lot about how Oda decided which characters would be based on which pirates and how we went about power scaling them accordingly
